The Amplifier Research 250W1000B is a cutting-edge, portable, self-contained RF amplifier that delivers robust performance in demanding applications. This air-cooled, completely solid-state amplifier is engineered to meet the needs for instantaneous bandwidth, high gain, and exceptional linearity. With advanced push-pull circuitry in all high-power stages, the 250W1000B minimizes distortion while enhancing stability. When paired with a sweep generator, this model ensures a minimum output of 250 watts of RF power.

Equipped with a state-of-the-art Digital Control Panel (DCP), the AR 250W1000B offers both local and remote control capabilities. The DCP features a digital display, menu-assigned softkeys, a single rotary knob, and four dedicated switches for easy access to critical functions (POWER, STANDBY, OPERATE, and FAULT/RESET). Operational data, including Forward Power and Reflected Power, along with comprehensive control status and internal amplifier reports, are presented clearly on the display. Special features such as gain control, internal/external automatic level control (ALC) with front panel threshold adjustment, pulse input capability, and RF output level protection optimize functionality. The integrated RF detector supports self-testing and operational verification. Safety is enhanced with DC current sensing and individual fusing for all output stages.

The amplifier supports remote operation through GPIB/IEEE-488 and RS-232 interfaces, with a host of connections available at the rear panel. A keylock on the front panel further ensures secure control between local and remote settings.

Designed with a modern, compact bench-top enclosure, the 250W1000B is ideal for a variety of RF applications, including RF susceptibility testing, antenna and component testing, watt meter calibration, and serving as a driver for frequency multipliers and higher power amplifiers. A safety interlock can be integrated through a rear panel connector for added precaution.
