The BK Precision 8542B programmable DC electronic load is engineered to enhance all functionalities of its predecessor while delivering superior reliability and excellent value. This versatile tool is ideal for testing and evaluating a variety of DC power sources, including power supplies, DC-DC converters, batteries, battery chargers, and photovoltaic arrays.

Featuring a comprehensive suite of functions, the BK Precision 8542B supports multiple operational modes such as list mode, transient mode, automatic test mode, and battery test mode, making it suitable for both laboratory and production line applications. Its ability to create continuously switching and pulsing load conditions allows for dynamic load testing on DC sources.

Designed in a compact benchtop format, the BK Precision 8542B operates in four distinct modes: constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV), constant resistance (CR), and constant power (CW). The unit’s internal memory is capable of storing 100 sets of user-configurable parameters—including voltage, current, slew rate, and width—for quick recall and efficient operation. You can control load behavior through internal triggers, external sources, or remotely via included application software.

In addition to easy front panel and remote interface control, current values can be programmed using an analog control signal, enabling external control from zero to full scale with a 0 to 10 V input signal. The device includes a BNC output located at the rear for monitoring current with a corresponding 0 to 10 V output signal.
