The Chroma 62120D-600 is an advanced programmable, bi-directional DC power supply designed to meet the evolving needs of various applications, especially in renewable energy systems. This innovative device combines the characteristics of both a power source and a load in a two quadrant operation, making it ideal for testing photovoltaic (PV) and storage hybrid inverters, as well as power conversion systems (PCS) during charging and discharging cycles. Moreover, it serves effectively as a battery simulator.

In addition to renewable energy applications, the Chroma 62120D-600 is perfectly suited for power components in electric vehicles (EVs), including bidirectional on-board chargers (BOBC), bidirectional DC converters, and DC-AC motor drivers. This enables seamless replacement testing of power conversions in both charging and discharging scenarios.

With user-friendly operation akin to a smartphone, setting up and adjusting the Chroma 62120D-600 is intuitive. The robust touch screen interface allows users to easily configure voltage and current settings, manage program sequence controls, and preview output waveforms—all with a few taps.

This powerful device combines both DC power supply output and regenerative DC load capabilities, enhancing its versatility. It not only facilitates comprehensive motor driver testing but also contributes to energy efficiency by enabling power to be backfed to the grid. Equipped with 100 programmable settings, it accommodates a variety of testing requirements, including compliance with LV123 and LV148 standards specific to new energy vehicle components.

When paired with the Chroma Softpanel, executing tests becomes as simple as a single click, making the workflow more efficient than ever. The Chroma 62120D-600 boasts an active power factor correction (PFC) greater than 0.98, translating into low energy consumption along with high conversion efficiency. Additionally, it is designed to accommodate a broad AC power input range, supporting three-phase inputs from 200Vac to 480Vac. Operation at a lower voltage (200Vac-340Vac) results in an output power deration to 67%, while at higher voltages (341Vac-480Vac), the output power remains at a full 100%.
