The Chroma 62180D-1800 is a state-of-the-art programmable, bi-directional DC power supply designed for versatility and efficiency in testing renewable energy systems. Featuring two quadrant operation, this unit not only acts as a power source but also provides load characteristics, allowing the feedback of power from the Device Under Test (DUT). Ideal for applications such as PV/storage hybrid inverters and power conversion systems (PCS), it excels in both charging and discharging scenarios, effectively simulating batteries in both directions.
This innovative power supply is exceptionally suitable for power components used in electric vehicles, including bidirectional on-board chargers (BOBC), bidirectional DC converters, and DC-AC motor drivers. The Chroma 62180D-1800 simplifies operation through an intuitive user interface reminiscent of a smartphone, enabling users to easily navigate settings, program sequence controls, and preview output waveforms via the vibrant touch screen.
What sets the Chroma 62180D-1800 apart is its dual functionality: it delivers both DC power supply output and regenerative DC load, ensuring not only comprehensive motor driver testing but also energy efficiency through effective backfeeding to the grid. With 100 programmable settings, this unit meets various testing standards, including LV123 and LV148, specifically for new energy vehicle components. Designed with an active power factor correction (PFC) greater than 0.98, it ensures low energy consumption alongside high conversion efficiency. The device accommodates a broad universal AC input power range of three-phase 200Vac to 480Vac. It operates at full output power (18kW) under high voltage conditions (341Vac-480Vac), while at lower input voltages (200Vac-340Vac), the output power is effectively derated to 67%.
