Chemglass Cold Addition Funnels, Airfree, Schlenk

The Chemglass Cold Addition Funnels are expertly designed to facilitate seamless chemical processes under inert conditions. Ideal for applications in the preparation of block copolymers or intricate chemical syntheses that require high vacuum techniques, these funnels are a must-have for any serious laboratory.

Key Features:

    • Grease-Free Valves: Each funnel is equipped with 0 - 4 mm Chem-Vac™ Chem-Cap® valves on both the pressure equalizing arm and lower inner joint, ensuring that contents remain uncontaminated prior to use.
    • Inert Conditions: Strategic valve positioning allows for maintaining an inert atmosphere within the funnel, crucial for sensitive chemical reactions.
    • Syringe Sampling Access: The 14/20 outer joint is conveniently sealed just above the coolant chamber, accommodating CG-3022 or CG-3024 septum stoppers for safe syringe sampling.
    • Effective Drainage: A thoughtfully designed drain tube at the rear of the coolant chamber allows for efficient removal of liquids, enhancing usability.
    • Large Diameter Ring Seal: The wide ring seal between the coolant container and funnel body minimizes stress on the system, enabling the use of a broad range of coolants—from standard ice-water to extreme liquid nitrogen.
    • Open Cup Coolant Design: An innovative open cup configuration in the coolant chamber allows for effortless addition of coolants such as dry ice chunks, while preventing "blow-back" issues common to other funnel models.

Engineering Excellence:

Designed and developed by William J. Swatos and Barton J. Schober from the Department of Materials Science & Engineering, Polymer Science Program at Penn State University, these funnels epitomize precision engineering tailored for the demands of modern chemical processes.
