Elgar SW5250AE AC Power Source

The Elgar SmartWave SW5250AE AC Power Source is a state-of-the-art testing solution designed to support rigorous compliance testing for a wide range of applications. Featuring transformerless, direct coupled amplifiers with very low, uniform output impedance, it provides essential functionality for advanced power simulations.

The SW5250AE facilitates full agency compliant AC mains power testing according to IEC 1000-3-2, IEC 1000-3-3, and IEC 1000-4-13 standards. This robust equipment is equipped with a true arbitrary waveform generator-based controller that excels in generating complex waveforms with high DC content. Users can easily simulate real-world power irregularities, including:

    • Phase-controlled sub-cycle or multi-cycle dropouts
    • Voltage spikes and sags
    • Surges and frequency excursions
    • Frequency and voltage ramps

One of the standout features of the Elgar SW5250AE is its ability to generate three independent, complex waveforms across all three phases simultaneously. This contributes to its versatility as it can also function as a true DC power supply. With the capability to create high DC content waveforms (up to 312 volts) without derating output power—even with 100% reactive loads—there is no need for a separate DC supply, simplifying your testing setup.

This advanced AC power source is specifically engineered for testing real-world power conditions, load susceptibility, and power line disturbance simulations, making it ideal for:

    • MIL-STD-704 compliance testing
    • DO-160 avionics testing
    • ABD100 testing protocols
