Keysight / Agilent 3400B True RMS Voltmeter

The Agilent HP 3400B stands as a benchmark in precision measurement, offering true root-mean-square (RMS) voltmeter functionality. This device delivers a direct correlation between meter indication and the DC heating power of the input waveform, ensuring accurate readouts for a variety of testing scenarios.

With an impressive six-decade frequency coverage, the 3400B is versatile enough for a wide range of audio and most RF measurements. It is engineered to measure broadband noise and accommodate fast rise pulses with ease. The voltmeter can adeptly handle pulse measurements or other non-sinusoidal signals with crest factors reaching up to 10:1. Notably, this characteristic can extend to an astounding 100:1 crest factor at 10% of full scale, which is particularly useful for demanding applications.

For those who require high-resolution measurements or permanent plots of recorded data, the rear panel is equipped with a DC output. This feature allows for connections to an X-Y plotter, strip chart recorder, or digital voltmeter, providing a linear 0 to 1 volt drive that is proportional to the meter deflection.
