RENT KEYSIGHT / AGILENT 8508A Vector Voltmeter (Call for Availability)
The Keysight / Agilent 8508A Vector Voltmeter is an advanced, fully-automatic tuned receiver designed to simplify RF voltage and phase measurements. Utilizing a narrowband measuring technique, this high-performance instrument boasts a dynamic range exceeding 90 dB, coupled with an impressive sensitivity of 10 µV, allowing users to detect even the faintest signals with ease. The 8508A excels in determining the difference between two input channels, offering a remarkable 0.1-degree resolution across a comprehensive +180 to -180 degree range. This capability enables the measurement of various parameters, including electrical length, phase distortion, and impedance.
The standard configuration comes with the HP 85081B input module, featuring two high-impedance probe inputs that cater to frequencies between 100 kHz and 1 GHz. A standout feature of the 8508A is its capacity to store reference measurements, which can be employed in subsequent evaluations, allowing for the individual characterization and adjustment of circuit sections.
Additionally, any continuous wave (CW) source can serve as a stimulus, enabling real-time measurements under normal operating conditions—ideal for assessing components in situ. To optimize the probe inputs for a 50 Ω environment, the HP 11570A accessory kit is available, including two HP 11536A probe tees, an HP 11549A power splitter, and two HP 908A 50 Ω terminations. For enhanced functionality, the option 050 comes with the HP 85082A input module, which operates between 300 kHz and 2 GHz, providing the accuracy and dynamic range necessary for both active and passive component testing.
