Keysight / Agilent 8753C Network Analyzer
The Keysight / Agilent 8753C Network Analyzer is an essential tool for precise RF measurements in both laboratory and production environments. Engineered to deliver reliable performance, this network analyzer excels in characterizing the linear behavior of both active and passive networks, devices, or components across a frequency range of 300 kHz to 3 GHz (expandable to 6 GHz with option 006).
Key Features:
- Dual Display Channels: Observe reflection and transmission characteristics of the Device Under Test (DUT) simultaneously using overlay or split-screen formats on a vibrant color display.
- Versatile Measurement Functions: Easily measure the magnitude, phase, or group delay characteristics of your DUT with intuitive softkey selections.
- Efficient Test Sequences: Streamline complex testing procedures with the test sequence function, allowing for quick execution with a single keystroke.
- Integrated Synthesized Source: Equipped with over 100 mW of output power and 1 Hz frequency resolution, enabling a variety of sweep types including linear, log, list, power, and continuous wave (CW).
- Advanced Measurement Capability: Features three tuned receivers, providing independent power measurements or simultaneous ratio measurements over a robust 100 dB dynamic range.
Comprehensive Device Characterization:
When paired with the appropriate test set, the 8753C allows thorough investigation of both reflection and transmission characteristics from 300 kHz to 3 GHz (or 6 GHz with the HP 85047A). Non-linear device characterization becomes straightforward with options that enable displayed second and third harmonic levels relative to the fundamental frequency (up to 40 dBc, using option 002).
Power Meter Calibration:
Ensure precise power measurements with automated control of HP 437B or 438A Power Meters, delivering leveled absolute power to sensitive devices for highly accurate input or output levels.
Mixer Tracking and Conversion Loss Measurements:
The tuned receiver can be adjusted away from its synthesized source, allowing easy measurement of mixer tracking and conversion losses. Fixed and swept Intermediate Frequency (IF) measurements are also supported.
Time Domain Capability:
With option 010, the 8753C introduces time domain response displays. The low pass mode facilitates traditional Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) measurements, revealing impedance types (R, L, C) at discontinuities. The bandpass time domain mode, requiring only an impulse stimulus, allows flexible evaluation of frequency selective devices without imposing frequency restrictions. Gating can be utilized to isolate specific responses, providing insights into the frequency response of individual circuit components without disruption.
