The NH Research 9430-24 4-Quadrant Regenerative AC Load revolutionizes your testing capabilities with its innovative design and advanced features. With selectable phase inputs and outputs, this AC load is equipped with a built-in waveform digitizing measurement system, enabling it to simulate a wide array of linear and non-linear loads. Ideal for rigorous applications including testing of UPSs, AC sources, inverters, rectifiers, switches, circuit breakers, and fuses, the 9430-24 can efficiently return power to facility mains in sink mode, minimizing energy waste.

4-QUADRANT OPERATION:

One of the standout features of the NH Research 9430-24 is its exceptional 4-quadrant operational capability. Unlike traditional 2-quadrant AC loads, this bi-directional system not only allows for positive power flow but also facilitates reverse current generation typical of inductive or capacitive loads, thereby accurately mirroring real-world reactive power dynamics.

HIVAR® Design Feature

With the cutting-edge HIVAR® design, the 9430-24 enables the testing of high reactive load input power without the usual limitations on true power. This design innovation allows testing sources to handle reactive power (VARs) up to 2.6 times the true power (Watts), ensuring versatility and reliability. For example, a 12kW load is rated equivalently at 31.5kVA, reflecting both true and apparent power ratings.

EMULATION MODES

The NH Research 9430-24 offers multiple Emulation Modes for diverse testing scenarios: the Constant Current (CC) mode draws consistent current, suitable for both linear and non-linear loads; Constant Resistance (CR) mode acts as a unity power factor resistor; the Constant Power (CP) mode emulates loads typical of switching power supplies; Constant Apparent Power (CS) mode represents a vector quantity merging real and reactive power; and Constant RL (CRL) mode simulates a resistive load with inductive characteristics, like those found in motors.

REGENERATIVE RETURN OF LOAD POWER TO FACILITY LINE

Maximizing efficiency, the NHR 9430-24 returns over 90% of consumed power back to the facility, delivering significant cost savings on electricity.
