RENT NH RESEARCH 9430 Regenerative AC Load, 4-Quadrant (Call for Availability)
The NH Research 9430 4-Quadrant Regenerative AC Load is engineered for precision and versatility, featuring selectable phase inputs/outputs along with a built-in waveform digitizing measurement system. This advanced equipment can simulate nearly any linear or non-linear load, making it ideal for a variety of applications, including the testing of UPSs, AC sources, inverters, rectifiers, switches, circuit breakers, and fuses. In sink mode, the NH Research 9430 efficiently returns power to the facility mains, rather than dissipating it as heat, enhancing energy conservation.
4-QUADRANT OPERATION:
The NH Research 9430 distinguishes itself with its unique bi-directional operation across all four quadrants. This capability reduces limitations found in traditional 2-quadrant AC loads, enabling the simulation of reverse current scenarios typically generated by inductive or capacitive loads. The 9430 expertly replicates real-world reactive electrical power flows, enhancing testing accuracy and realism.
HIVAR® DESIGN FEATURE:
Integrating the innovative HIVAR® design, the 9430 addresses the challenges often faced with high reactive loads. This feature permits testing high reactive input power without the usual reduction of true power (Watts) that conventional loads impose. Capable of managing reactive power (VARs) as high as 2.6 times the true power, a 12kW load translates to an impressive 31.5 kVA rating.
EMULATION MODES:
The NH Research 9430 accommodates a broad spectrum of testing scenarios through its multiple Emulation Modes. The following modes are offered:
- Constant Current (CC) Mode: Draws a constant current suitable for linear, non-linear, and regulatory loading.
- Constant Resistance (CR) Mode: Emulates a resistor with a unity power factor.
- Constant Power (CP) Mode: Mimics a load, such as a switching power supply.
- Constant Apparent Power (CS) Mode: Represents both real and reactive power in vector form.
- Constant RL (CRL) Mode: Simulates a resistive load with an inductive component, such as a motor.
REGENERATIVE RETURN OF LOAD POWER:
The NH Research 9430 excels in regenerative power return, channeling over 90% of energy back to the facility. This efficient operation can translate into significant cost savings, often allowing the load to recover its purchase cost within 2 to 3 years under continuous testing scenarios. For intermittent usage, the economic benefits of regenerative return remain substantial. Additionally, users experience an improved work environment with reduced air conditioning needs and no requirement for facility power upgrades.
