The Nitrocellulose Membrane MCE, 5.0µm, is an unsupported, hydrophilic filtration solution specifically designed for high-efficiency diagnostic kit manufacturing. Its unique composition and structure enable rapid filtration, making it an essential component in a variety of applications.

Product Features

    • High Flow Rate: Engineered for fast filtration, ensuring rapid throughput in diagnostic processes.
    • Uniform Pore Structure: The consistent microporous design guarantees even flow and diffusion rates, enhancing performance.
    • Lot-to-Lot Consistency: Each membrane maintains reliable characteristics across different production batches.
    • Thickness: Between 0.1 - 0.19 mm, providing a perfect balance of durability and ease of use.

Applications

    • Aqueous filtration, particularly in analytical environments.
    • Food and beverage applications requiring stringent quality control.
    • Gravimetric analysis utilizing ashing techniques.
    • Microbiological and particulate analysis for precise results.
    • Sterility testing to ensure product safety and compliance.

The GVS Mixed Cellulose Esters (MCE) filtration membranes are comprised of a blend of inert cellulose nitrate and cellulose acetate polymers. Their biological inertness makes them highly versatile, effectively used in processes like clarification, sterilization, and various analytical applications. For instance, when utilized in gravimetric analysis through ashing methods, these membranes yield a minimal residue of less than 0.045% of their initial weight.

With a noncytotoxic wetting agent and extractable levels of less than 4% of their weight, these hydrophilic membranes are designed for optimal performance. The membranes can be autoclavable at 121°C for 20 minutes, providing robust sterilization capabilities, ensuring they maintain efficacy over a sterilized product lifetime of 24 months from the date of sterilization.
