Explore Parafilm® M Sealing Films
Parafilm® M is an innovative, colorless moisture-proof film engineered for versatility in laboratory settings. This semi-transparent, flexible thermoplastic film is designed to mold seamlessly to various surfaces, providing superior protection and sealing capabilities.
Key Features:
- Creates a robust moisture-barrier that securely seals glassware, preventing release even amidst off-gassing.
- Formulated to be non-toxic and free from plasticizers, primarily composed of durable polyolefins and paraffin waxes.
- Exhibits excellent resistance against acids, alkalis, and certain organic solvents; recommended caution against acetone, diethyl ether, and tetrachloride.
- Minimizes the chance of tampering with an odorless, colorless, and semi-transparent covering.
- Effectively prevents moisture and volume loss through its unique material composition and tight sealing capabilities.
- Features a highly flexible and self-sealing design that clings securely around irregular shapes and surfaces.
- Offers exceptional stretchability, expanding over 200% of its original length.
- Resistant for up to 48 hours against various polar substances, including saline solutions and inorganic acids.
Permeability Specifications:
- Oxygen: ASTM 1927-98 - 150 cc/m² d at 23°C and 50% RH
- Carbon Dioxide: Modulated IR Method - 1200 cc/m² d at 23°C and 0% RH
- Water Vapor: ASTM F1249-01 - Flat: 1 g/m² d at 38°C and 90% RH; Creased: 1 g/m² d at 38°C and 90% RH
Effects of Common Reagents:
