The PICOTEST J2100A Injection Transformer is the optimal solution for establishing reliable connections between network analyzers and circuits under test, particularly in control loop stability measurements. Engineered to inject signals without altering the performance of the control loop, this transformer emphasizes measurement integrity and precision.

This highly versatile injection transformer is isolated, allowing it to float on high voltages, such as those found in Power Factor Corrector (PFC) applications, which can reach up to 400VDC. To accommodate for measuring voltages that exceed the Bode-100 input ratings, attenuation probes are necessary for safe and accurate assessments.

One of the defining features of the J2100A is its impressive usable bandwidth, which typically surpasses the conventional 3dB frequency limits. By keeping the transformer outside of the measurement scheme, it challenges the misconception of it being a non-critical component. Moreover, the bandwidth is optimized by the terminating impedance; utilizing the 50 Ohm oscillator source impedance provided by most network analyzers, an optimal termination resistor of 5 Ohms is employed to minimize the injection signal's impact on the measured loop.

This thoughtful design helps prevent common errors associated with large signal measurements, making it easier to achieve small signal accuracy.
