AC Hipot Testing
The Guardian 6000 efficiently conducts AC dielectric testing over a voltage range of 50V to 5000VAC RMS. With a maximum leakage current of 40mA RMS, it is perfect for testing high-leakage current devices like power supplies featuring large filter or “Y” capacitors to minimize noise.
Insulation Resistance Measurements
This analyzer provides insulation resistance measurements akin to a DC hipot test, presenting resistance values rather than leakage current. The insulation resistance can be measured within a range of 100kΩ to 50GΩ with selectable test voltages from 50VDC to 1000VDC, adjustable in 1V increments.
DC Hipot Testing
The DC dielectric testing capabilities of the Guardian 6000 span a voltage range of 50V to 6000VDC, with resolution down to 1V. The device features a maximum current leakage of 20mA, enabling fast charging of capacitive devices. Quick discharge functionality significantly reduces testing time, with leakage currents monitorable as low as 0.1μA.
Ground Bond Testing
The Guardian 6000 facilitates ground bond testing with a maximum output of 30A AC. You can program the test current from 1A to 30A in 0.1A increments. Advanced options allow programming of hi current limits, test duration, frequency, and open circuit no-load voltage. The offset feature compensates automatically for any lead resistance to ensure accuracy.
Leakage Current Simulation
It also features a simulated line leakage test capability, which measures true RMS leakage current directly on the unit. The testing circuit aligns with recommendations from UL1950, allowing test voltages to vary from 50V to 400VAC.
