Rohde & Schwarz NRV-Z5 High Sensitivity Diode Power Sensor
The Rohde & Schwarz NRV-Z5 is a cutting-edge diode power sensor that combines high sensitivity with advanced measurement capabilities. Built on the foundation of zero-bias Schottky diodes, this exceptional device can measure power levels as low as 100 pW (-70 dBm) and up to 20 mW (+13 dBm), making it ideal for precise applications in both research and industrial settings.
The NRV-Z5 excels in its ability to measure average power of modulated signals within the range of -70 dBm to -20 dBm, mimicking the behavior of thermal sensors. Its innovative design ensures RMS weighting of harmonics and maintains linearity independent of temperature and frequency fluctuations, guaranteeing reliable performance in various operating environments.
While the sensor is capable of operating in the square-law region, it is also proficient beyond that range. However, measurements outside this region are restricted to spectrally pure signals with an unmodulated envelope, such as CW, FM, PM, FSK, and GMSK signals. Be aware that measurement uncertainties may arise due to frequency and temperature effects in this operational area.
