Rohde & Schwarz UPD Audio Analyzer

The R&S UPD Audio Analyzer is an advanced tool engineered for comprehensive audio measurement, performing tasks from frequency response assessments to externally controlled sweeps with reference traces. It excels in determining 3rd-order difference frequency distortion and displays spectral information for demodulated wow and flutter signals. Unlike many competitors, the R&S UPD offers genuine dual-channel measurement capabilities in the audio frequency range, eliminating the need to switch inputs and expanding measurement versatility beyond specific cases.

Designed for versatility, the signal generator produces a wide array of signals including sinewave, noise, and multi-sinewave signals that can encompass up to 7400 frequencies. With superior technical specifications, the UPD delivers analog sinewave generation at harmonic levels typically reaching -120 dB, along with spectrum displays exhibiting noise floors below -140 dB for analog and -160 dB for digital interfaces. The FFT feature offers maximum frequency resolution down to 0.02 Hz, ensuring accuracy and detail in your measurements.

The Rohde & Schwarz UPD enables signal monitoring through loudspeakers and accurate jitter measurements on digital audio signals. It also provides resynchronization of jittered digital audio signals via a jitter-free clock. All measurements are executed using digital signal processing, with analog signals subjected to complex preprocessing prior to digitization. This innovative approach results in extended dynamic range measurements, essential for future-proof assessments of advanced audio converters.

Key Features:

    • Identical test routines for both analog and digital interfaces facilitate direct comparisons of IMD measurements.
    • All test functions are accessible via analog and digital interfaces, enabling complete and efficient testing along the transmission path.
    • Digital implementation of filters allows for virtually infinite filter options; simply select type, cutoff frequency, and attenuation for seamless integration into the test path.
    • Intermodulation measurements selectively assess spurious components across all frequencies based on relevant mathematical test standards, ensuring accurate results.
    • High measurement speed surpasses analog techniques as digital routines dynamically adjust to input frequency.
    • Streamlined operation across analog and digital interfaces enhances user experience and efficiency.
