SmartGlow™ DNA Stains

SmartGlow™ PS (Pre-Stain) Details:
SmartGlow™ PS is specifically engineered as a direct replacement for Ethidium Bromide in agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. When bound to double-stranded DNA (dsDNA), single-stranded DNA (ssDNA), or RNA, it emits a vivid green fluorescence. The stain exhibits excitation peaks at 290 nm and 490 nm, allowing seamless incorporation into both UV and blue light protocols.
Usage Protocol for SmartGlow™ PS:
- Prepare 100 mL of agarose or polyacrylamide gel solution.
- Add 5 µL of SmartGlow™ PS to the gel solution prior to pouring.
- For optimal sensitivity, incorporate SmartGlow™ PS into the running buffer at a concentration of 2.5 µL to 5 µL per 100 mL.
- Post-electrophoresis, visualize the gel using a UV or blue light illuminator.
SmartGlow™ LD (Loading Dye) Details:
SmartGlow™ LD is provided in a concentrated 6X formulation, designed for easy integration into sample preparation without the need for additional dye in the gel or running buffer. Upon electrophoretic separation, the dye will emit green fluorescence when interacting with dsDNA, ssDNA, or RNA.
Usage Protocol for SmartGlow™ LD:
- Prepare your agarose or polyacrylamide gel solution.
- Mix SmartGlow™ LD with your samples and DNA markers at a 1:5 dilution (dye to sample).
- Once electrophoresis is completed, visualize the results using a UV or blue light illuminator.
