Operators can effortlessly set and monitor voltage, current, power, and internal resistance values directly via the touchscreen. The system incorporates programmable voltage and current ramps with storage functionality for repeated use, significantly enhancing testing flexibility. Additionally, under voltage limits can be established to prevent deep discharge of battery packs, ensuring device safety. The comprehensive event logs capture a detailed history of system actions, warnings, and faults, allowing for precise diagnostics and monitoring.
The versatility of the Sorensen i-BEAM IB-1-600-60-200 extends throughout the entire product lifecycle. Its applications include battery simulation, battery testing (both charge and discharge), DC motor testing, electric powertrain applications, fuel cell load assessments, solar panel evaluations, and high power fuse, contactor, and circuit breaker testing. The innovative Single-Channel configuration enables bidirectional power flow, facilitating both sourcing and sinking operations. To complement its functionality, the system is equipped with a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) that establishes a remote connection between the i-BEAM and the Device Under Test (DUT) within a testing environment. This PDU is designed as a free-standing cabinet featuring integrated shutdown and reset controls, a voltmeter, a status light tower, and a door contact safety mechanism to halt operations if the cabinet door is opened.
