RENT STANFORD RESEARCH FS725 Rubidium Frequency Standard (Call for Availability)

The Stanford Research FS725 is a sophisticated rubidium frequency standard that seamlessly integrates a rubidium oscillator, a low-noise AC power supply, and distribution amplifiers, all housed within a compact half-width 2U chassis. Designed for excellence, it boasts a remarkable stability with an estimated aging rate of less than 5 × 10–9 over 20 years, and an impressive mean time between failures (MTBF) of over 200,000 hours, ensuring long-term reliability and precision. This makes the FS725 an indispensable asset for calibration and R&D laboratories, as well as applications that demand the highest level of frequency accuracy.

Key outputs include two 10 MHz and one 5 MHz frequencies, each exhibiting exceptionally low phase noise levels of –130 dBc/Hz at a 10 Hz offset, complemented by a one second Allan variance that guarantees superior stability. The FS725 supports the addition of up to three internal distribution modules, each providing four 10 MHz outputs, one 5 MHz output, and a 1 pps output— all maintaining the same high standard of low phase noise, harmonic distortion, and jitter.

Communication is a breeze with the built-in RS-232 interface, allowing for direct interaction with the rubidium oscillator. Users can effortlessly monitor and control timing through the provided Windows software, which also aids in assessing the operational status of the device. Additionally, the FS725 features two alarm relays that signal the lock state of the rubidium oscillator and synchronization status to an external 1 pps input, utilizing SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) relays for both normally-open and normally-closed contact options.

Specifications for the STANFORD RESEARCH FS725 Rubidium Frequency Standard Include:

Output frequencies 10MHz sine, 5MHz sine, 10µs wide 1 pps pulse
Amplitude 0.5Vrms, ±10%
Harmonics <–60 dBc
1 pps pulse amplitude 2.5V into 50Ω, 5V into High-Z loads
