Rent the Amplifier Research 120S1G4

The Amplifier Research 120S1G4 is a cutting-edge solid-state amplifier crafted for high-demand applications requiring instantaneous bandwidth, superior gain, and exceptional linearity. With a sleek, contemporary design, this self-contained, air-cooled unit is suitable for benchtop use but can also be easily mounted in an equipment rack for versatile installation options.

Designed to deliver a minimum of 60 watts of RF power when paired with a sweep generator, the 120S1G4 features a convenient front-panel gain control that allows operators to set the desired output level effortlessly. To protect against RF input overdrive, the amplifier includes an innovative RF input leveling circuit that regulates the RF input level to the first stage of amplification when levels exceed 0 dBm. Additionally, the amplifier is equipped with over-temperature protection, disabling DC voltage to the RF amplifier stages in the event of cooling failure or blocked airflow.

The digital display prominently located on the front panel indicates operational status and provides alerts for any fault conditions, such as over-temperature or power supply issues, ensuring smooth recovery and continuous performance. All amplifier control functions and status indicators are easily accessible through various remote connection formats, including GPIB/IEEE-488, RS-232 hardwire, fiber optic, USB, and Ethernet, with a dedicated bus interface connector on the back panel. A Local/Remote switch on the front panel guarantees seamless operation control.

The low spurious signals and impeccable linearity make the 120S1G4 an ideal driver amplifier for testing wireless and communication components and subsystems. Its versatility enables use across multiple frequency bands, effectively supporting communication technologies including CDMA, W-CDMA, TDMA, GSM, and more. It is also suitable for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing applications where undistorted modulation envelopes are crucial.
