Rohde & Schwarz ESCS30 EMI Receiver

The Rohde & Schwarz ESCS30 EMI Receiver is an advanced compliance test receiver designed for rigorous electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) measurements, fully adhering to CISPR and VDE standards. Engineered for precision, the ESCS30 excels in dynamic range and overload immunity, making it ideal for testing and product optimization during the development stage of electrical equipment.

With just a single keystroke, the ESCS30 can conduct comprehensive RFI voltage, power, and field-strength measurements. Its built-in peak detector performs a prescan to identify critical frequency ranges, while the Max. Hold function effectively captures intermittent interference. This streamlined process includes sophisticated data-reduction routines that optimize measurement time, focusing on frequency ranges with significant emissions.

Key Features

    • Automatic selection of the correct CISPR bandwidth based on the test frequency, ensuring compliance with limit lines such as EN standards.
    • Phase settings of the Line Impedance Stabilization Network (LISN) are automatically configured for RFI voltage measurements, capturing data with the highest RFI levels.
    • Interactive search functions for determining interference maxima during RFI power and field-strength measurements.

Measurement Modes

The ESCS30 offers versatile RF analysis with multiple operational modes: Spectrum Overview, Scan, and Channel Scan.

  • Spectrum Overview Mode: Quickly measures between user-defined start and stop frequencies, ensuring continuous monitoring thanks to its tracking preselection feature.
  • Scan Mode: Conducts standard-conforming measurements through a selectable scan table with adjustable step widths. Peak and average values can be displayed simultaneously to enhance efficiency.
  • Channel Scan Mode: Designed for repetitive measurements on specific frequencies with a customizable entry for up to 400 frequencies.

Time Domain Analysis

The innovative time domain analysis feature allows you to evaluate the temporal characteristics of interference, critical for optimizing RF measurement times. You can assess the fluctuations of narrowband interference and measure the pulse rate of broadband signals. This functionality adheres to the required accuracy for pulse-duration measurements, streamlining the testing process while allowing up to 30,000 results to be stored and analyzed.

IF Spectrum Analysis

With the integrated IF spectrum analysis, you can select a display range from 10 kHz to 10 MHz and assess signals with resolution bandwidths of 1, 3, or 10 kHz, enhancing the identification of interference signals across the receive frequency range.
